I wouldn't be surprised if there is more dust in the Middle East than in the UK.

In Australia the oil change interval on my Subaru is 6 months where as in most of the rest of the world it's yearly. It's either dusty here too (yes it is) or the dealers are greedy (probably that too!)

Ah so differences in how much dust is in the climate means different countries have different change intervals for the same engine and oil? Didn't know that but it makes sense.

Could it be the case then that a 20k interval really is ok in the uk (as per the manual) though 10k is needed in the US and elsewhere? My question then would be why did the reminder pop up at 10k miles in a uk car though. All very confusing...
