High Performance drop-in air filter replacement - 991 GT3RS comes standard with the BMC filters. Now you can add them to your Cayman and Boxster (both 987 and 981).
BMC makes the highest quality air filters on the market today. Changing your air filter to a BMC unit will provide you with better filtration AND performance. The key to a good air filter is the ability to flow as much air as possible while not allowing any dirt or debris to pass through with it. BMC filters are designed with these two principles in mind. They achieve this goal by using a specially designed cotton filter element which allows up to 40% more air to pass through then a standard paper filter, while preventing nearly twice as much dust (filters particles down to 7 micron vs 10 micron of OEM filters) from passing through.

DESIGN AND MATERIALS
BMC air filters have been used by top teams in Formula 1 including Ferrari. An F1 filter must be very light, made of the best raw materials and improve performance. For this reason BMC uses only alloy mesh with epoxy coating to ensure protection from petrol fumes and from oxidization due to the humidity of the air. The filtering material is composed of a special cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil to give you the best air permeability and the rubber frame provides an excellent seal.
ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
BMC technical staff has developed a particular production system based on soft rubber moulding which produces the familiar BMC red filters. They are made in one single piece with no welded joints in the corners, thus avoiding breaking risks. This system, called “Full Moulding” comes from R&D in F1.
