Ya a whole lot of colors going on..

Only thing visually I have left is I want to add the black P O R S C H E sticker below beltline. I think it'll tie the black wheels together.

This piece..

Can you run 255/285 on the factory wheels? Does anyone know off the top of their head?

I know some run 285's on stock rear wheels, with 245's front. Not sure if 255's front may be counterproductive...

You want to keep outer diameter consistent. 245/285 will do that for you.

Yeah but that's 10mm larger stagger than stock, and I'd like to keep them no more than 30mm apart.

I'm guessing no one has gone 255 then.

Default "New" Marken Weltmeister (World Champion) Window Decal

I've always loved the "Marken Weltmeister" (translation: "Manufacturer's World Champion") window decals found on many of the old 911's from the early '70s celebrating the factory's numerous/consecutive World Championship of Makes racing titles. As I understand it, the cars came from the factory with the decals so they were OEM.

Where the decals appeared on the car depended, according to the 911 Registry, on the year of the car and thus the decal. Certain decals were applied to the windshield on the passenger side, bottom corner, and others were applied to the passenger side back quarter window glass.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...e-does-go.html

According to Suncoast, Porsche is now producing these decals again in their various iterations celebrating various years' victories from 1969 - 1973.

https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKUWC7273.html

I flirted with the idea of getting one of these decals, but because they celebrated Porsche's race heritage from the distant past, I hesitated wishing there was a decal commemorating Porsche's more recent wins, perhaps at Le Mans for instance (2015, 2016 and 2017). Well, viola! I came across this new 2015/2016 Marken Weltmeister decal:

https://www.aasesales.com/products/d6b-c87-9b-109842

It's not produced by Porsche, but it is a high quality reproduction inspired by the '70s vintage World Champion stickers. It appears to be crafted from polyester/mylar (transparent foil??) and has reverse adhesive so you apply it inside the glass.

The decal is white, black and gold just like the historic decals and measures 4 3/8" in diameter.

I really like the reference to the years 2015 and 2016 because:

  • those were years Porsche won Le Mans,
  • the 981 Spyder was introduced at the New York Auto Show in April 2015, and
  • obviously the car is a 2016 model year.

For these reasons, it struck me as the perfect decal for the Spyder and a way to commemorate/celebrate those Porsche racing successes coinciding with the Spyder's production.

IMO the gold and black in the decal look great against the Garnet Red dash in the Spyder Classic interior.

Pretty good visual bang for $18, plus it's a good way to quickly determine which car is yours should you ever find yourself among five other silver Spyders with Classic interior

I see what you did there :-)

Looks cool and certainly cheaper than a Cobb tune and race cats !!!

All 3 have separate part #'s. Would need to order all 3 parts to complete the 'set'.

Love the old Marken Weltmeister decals- my '71 914 came with one I've had since new. Might have to put one on the Spyder "for old times sake."

Cool, Nelson! Although this will make it harder now to distinguish our cars at the next drive

FYI, I've since come across this 2015-2016-2017 decal, which might be another alternative heralding Porsche's victorious sweep of Le Mans those three years:

The Spyder is one of the best looking cars that Porsche makes IMO. Would love to get one in the shop for an exhaust install
