I have an '06 Cayman S. Original engine and trans etc. It's got 111K on it. Lots of goodies. Runs great, looks good, handles amazingly well. I could spend money on an IMS, maybe bearings etc to prolong the life or I could try a swap or rebuild. This care would actually be a great candidate for a swap like this. I live in IL.
How far has this swap gone? Does this car have the 3.8L installed or is it just the doner car?
If it's not done, would it make more sense to use my car for the swap?
If it's done, could this car pass emissions in IL?
If I bought it, would you be interested in my car as a donor for another swap?
I'm not sure, from all the photos vs the original description, exactly what you're selling.
email me at tbrown at capseal dot com.
Thanks!

But the swap is complete, and the car is for sale.
Thanks

kinda surprised Vision and/or BGB hadn't contemplated this result.

Vision was only offering to help; they tried to get the car re-smogged but the information given to the original center all got documented and flagged by someone who was more interested in failing the car & not accepting OK readiness monitors.
i spent probably 30 hours making sure all readiness monitors were working and did repeated drives before it left, working with the original ECU tuner to make sure everything was turned back on. had the car gone to smog with no information provided it would have cleared but hindsight is 20/20.
none of us saw this coming because that car was originally purchased by a customer looking to turn it into a race car in Alabama. then when the customer changed his mind i found the OP who was interested but we had never done a 2.9L 987.2 EFI-DFI swap for a California customer and never predicted this. it's a shame because this car is a great track car for someone who wants something like this.
thanks for those that are trying to spread the word on finding this car a good home.

I have not yet heard of any additional complications other than this car. I did however just get word that two of the original 3.8L 981 conversions i did for west coast folks just passed smog without issue.
