Default Proper intro & new Cayman S

After a long time lurking and learning, thought i would take a moment to post a proper intro and say hello and thanks. I have learned a great deal and had a number of great chuckles reading everyone's insights to date, and have finally gotten in a position to post about my upcoming Cayman S order.

I did the crazy and went the PTS route, along with the LTS route. It took a bit o' time to get everything order, but apparently now I am v215 with a December date and that is a good thing I understand. Soooo.. my build:

I went a bit over the top in some areas i think, but then again, i own my cars forever, so i tweaked it a bit more... wnet for the old school look instead of the traditional yellow/black.

the leather is the 2005 Carrera GT leather and was closest to what i was looking for as opposed to sending Porsche my personal leather sample...which shaved a couple weeks off the process. the largest hold up turned out to be the paint apparently, not the leather. there are a couple peculiarities on the LTS orders -- i.e. you cannot get the sun visors..

in the end, Brett P @ Sonnen & Matt @ Exclusive were a tremendous help and the windows were aligned to make this order work.

now I am keeping my fingers until December and will post pix when she arrives.

special thanks to Eduardo and the rest of the PTS pioneers. Could not have done this thoughtfully without you all.

take care.
George

Am I reading that right - did you just spend over $120k on a Cayman?

Signal yellow is a great color. And yes, I've never seen a Cayman this loaded.

Nice build. However, I'm curious why you didn't go for the GTS?

Horrors, all that indeed for a mere cayman....

Did not get the GTS because I did not want PASM...and the 15 extra ponies was not worth it the increase in the base price given everything else i was doing to the interior...

I did order from Sonnen.

Yes, the deviated stitching and the LTS ended up increasing the cost dramatically -- for example you have to get the center console w/ crest option if you want to cover it in the sample leather....but i really wanted to get rid of as much plastic as possible.

best,
George

Exactly. It is the details that make the difference to me in the end so i was willing to go there..insane in some regards for sure, but the silly grin i get just thinking about December rolling around....

George
