I'm in the process of negotiating trading my Spyder in. Dealer seems to really want my Spyder even if I don't buy another car. I'll let you know what the offers are. My Spyder is: 2011, full leather, 6 speed, bucket seats, 9400 miles.

I'd appreciate any info when you guys get it - not really in a place to buy right now, but will probably be looking for one later this year. I'd appreciate any insight as to where the market is pricing these things.

it's funny how times have changed. When I was trying to sell my first Spyder 2 years ago even the Porsche dealer did not want the car (my car only had 1500 miles and was like new) as they were not desirable and a hard sell. Now a second gen comes out and everyone now wants the 1st gen.

I have no doubts that it will be a bitter sweet deal for you. The 987.2 spyder captures the soul unlike most modern cars. Best wishes for the sale to go through.

Congrats and good to hear prices holding. 2 weeks ago at a dealer Coffee n' Cars I was asked if i was selling. Must the the buzz around the 981 Spyder that's increasing the interest. What are you moving into? A 981?

For those of you who are buying or already have a 987.2 Spyder, I wanted to share a recent discovery I made with my insurance company. I contacted them to ask what is the replacement value of my Spyder and they quoted $48K. I told them the market is higher than that and I want agreed value. Allstate couldn't offer it but what surprised me is that Hagerty is also quoting lower values than the market is dictating which is frustrating. So I'm trying to gather some data points and forward them to Hagerty to get the values closer to high $50's for Sport Bucket cars. Hearing that dealers are taking trades at close to $60k means they expect to sell at least 10% higher than that. If anyone comes across other recent sales at the higher values please let me know as it will benefit us all.
