Hey fellas, if you're like me, you miss this little tool being in the kit. Maybe I'm just getting old but damaging painted rims is super easy and I find this tool to be of great assistance in prevention of the creation of new compound cuss words and wheel scuffs. If you have to perform an emergency tire plug out in the boondocks it's got to help. Anyhow, I ordered one of these, for the price they look well made, no affiliation with this product.

PS Yes I know Orthojoe, this will add weight to the car so I will only take it on long trips or to wilderness locales.

I have a tool like this too. I got mine from suncoast. A few dollars cheaper, but not as nice looking as the one you have linked above. If you ever take off your wheels, totally recommended. I have a scuff on my brake caliper from not using one...

I just replaced all the stupid lug bolts with studs and nuts.
Simple.

You need 2, using 1 seems pointless and will not stop you chipping a PCCB or wheel.

1 Infact is worse if you slip as the wheel cannot drop and swings straight into your disks on the 1 helper you have installed.

Never had a problem with one at the 12 o'clock position, some upper body strength and attention to task.

Agree with that, needs to be at 12 o' clock position and is a brilliant aid. Mine is slightly different but does the same job.

the point of these is to slide the wheel clear of the PCCB disks without needing upper body strength, or having a issue if you slip.

All about the right tools for the job, but more important knowing how to use them, and in this case it's with 2 :-)

1 at 12 o'clock if dropped will swing back and forth into your PCCB chipping them.

No problem Spy, some people can't ride bikes without training wheels either, just so you know, that doesn't mean those that ride on two tires are doing it wrong.

I think 6 o'clock will work better. If its at the lowest position, no tendancy to rotate.

Don't go cheap, buy two. The wheel slides clear of the caliper.
