Sport exhaust question
I saw that Carnewal has a PSE system with a remote switch instead of the dash-mounted switch which requires dealer programming. At 1700 euro (~2400usd) + installation, it seems like a good alternative to the factory PSE which if I think is 2800 usd. It also defaults to whichever mode you were previously in when you start the car, rather than always starting in the non-sport mode.
Has anyone purchased/installed this system? Btw, here is the description from the Carnewal website.
P87-2 Factory Sport Exhaust with PSE Remote:
For every 2,9 and 3,4L model.
This PSE exhaust has valves that allows to switch between loud and silent. Original tail pipe needs to be used.
This factory sport exhaust comes with all the hardware needed to install the exhausts and vacuum lines and valve. The control of the PSE valve works by remote control.
Therefore you only have to plug in the connectors.
No hassle with dealer programmation, speed cut-outs or adding switches making the whole installation become an easy DIY.
The 2 channel remote has a "loud" and "silent" button so you can be 100% sure of the setting, even before you start the engine.
The PSE remote has a memory function : If you switch off the ignition, the last setting will be stored so next time you start the car, the PSE will still be in the same position.

That description sounds similar to how Capristo does their sport exhausts. Sounds like a very nice DIY option that could save about $1000 although I would try to find out what the shipping costs are since that might negate some of the cost savings.

There was a post from about a month ago where Gert had stated the 1695 euro price included shipping to the states. Anyhow, a nice alternative if my quest for an allocation doesn't pan out.

Were you able to find a Blue Spyder with MT? I haven't searched in a couple of weeks so I don't know what has come in but I don't recall seeing one as of the beginning of this month.

There's a receiver that plugs into the harness in the engine compartment.
All wiring is done there. Saves all the thru-firewall wiring to the ECU to control the 'flappers'. You do loose the PSE speed control function.
He also sells just the remote control if you have an existing PSE.
Gert has always been more than reasonable with shipping. I you have questions he is easy to reach via e-mail.

Yes, Gert is a great vendor. Just wish the Euro vs. USD exchange rate was what it used to be when I first ordered stuff from him; .90 USD = 1 Euro back in 2002/2003...the good old days.
