Any pics of the new Boxster?
I wish i could have made it out there for this event. Lots of North American debuts of some great cars.

Yes. Spent most of yesterday there. I forgot my camera, but my buddy took some shots of the Guards Red S they had sitting out. I'll post them for you as soon as I get them from him (later today hopefully).

I made an interesting observation that I am a little puzzled about. They had 3 S' out for display. 2 manuals, and one tip. The tip had the center radiator hole just like the normal S. However, both the manuals had the center vent blocked out and no radiator. The hole was still there to indicate the S version, but it was blocked off on the inside. I asked the reps about it and their best guess was that it was extra cooling for the tip. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it true that the manual doesn't have a third radiator?

BTW, beautiful car! If I didn't have so much $$ and time invested in my 986 I'd be down at the dealership today placing my order.

Hey Mike -
I actually read about exactly what you described...that the tip added an extra oil cooler. I can't remember where I read it though. My order is for a Guards red 987S so I'm pretty excited to see soem photo's.

thanks for the update.

I'd be interested to read that article if you happen to remember where you read it.

I already emailed the dealer about driving one when he gets some. I may not be able to own one for a little bit, but I can at least go on a 15 minute test drive.

Hey Mike - I found it.
It's on page 21 of the 2005 Boxster/Boxster S Product Information guide. It says;

On the Boxster S with Tiptronic S, and additional third radiator is used in the front end of the vehicle to facilitate colling of the automatic transmission oil vian and additional oil-water heat exchanger in the common water circuit.

I downloaded the product guide from here:
