As a fellow 3rd Gen 4Runner owner, believe me, you WILL need them on the valve cover gasket job. That job is no joke, plan on at least an entire day your first time (about 10 hours) best of luck!

lol. Yeah. I'm dreading it. I'm even considering just paying the dealer to do it. I bought all the OEM parts at a steep discount so it just might be worth it. Allows me to have fun over the weekend instead of getting all dirty and cursing for a day and a half.

A little late to the glove party, but I'm a big fan of these:

They are thin but strong, no tears in my usage but enough grip and dexterity to take apart electrical connectors without breaking them, which is good. I would wear something else for fluids, though.
