TBH... The GT4 already checks off all the right boxes i look for in a car. A 991.2 would be awesome but it is nearly 2x the cost of the GT4. I honestly can't justify that price delta... If i could i would be looking at the RS.

In either case you can't go wrong bud. I would only sell my GT4 for a GT3 or GT3 RS but the next GT4 also intrigues me. Good luck!

This is one of those questions where you need to go drive or ride in both and decide if the price of the .2 Gt3 is worth it.

Also really depends on your intended use.

They both perform well and highly capable on street or track... but obviously the race-spec powerplant/performance hands down goes to the the GT3.2

Value wise, the GT4...... but costs-aside, if I myself had to keep just one then it'll be the GT3.2

Both are winners in my book... can't really lose or be utterly disappointed even if you opt for "just" the GT4 and I love the GT4!

You know I love the GT4, this's why it's a tough call for me. I guess it's not a bad problem to have.

Thanks it's hard for me because I really enjoy everything's about the GT4 but the GT3 engine keeps calling.

Thanks, agreed it's just hard finding a .2 to drive.

How about this food for thought.... buy that GT3.2 and if you have remorse (I know I wouldn't) then sell it or trade it in for a GT4 again. You'd likely be able to recoup or maybe even profit from it.

I've had both and really like both a ton. Fortunately, both of these cars to date have fantastic value retention (sold my GT4 to a Broker for a little more than MSRP after 10 months) and my GT3 is doing fine so far on that score too.

So, the cost of ownership is really not that different despite the difference in purchase prices (particularly if you live in a state where you could get a credit towards sales tax for the GT4 trade). Since you're asking the question, I assume the purchase price is not an overwhelming barrier. Both have similar/same tires and brakes, so tracking costs are about same.

The GT3 engine definitely has an edge, though don't expect straight-line performance to be WAY different. They are both fast (GT3 just a bit more dramatic and a tad faster). 9k redline is really fun and when doing things like your own oil changes will make obvious where some of the extra money was spent - working on the GT3 and noticing some of the details is really impressive.

I guess one of the my favorite things about the GT3 is that totally stock it has less understeer than my GT4 had with swaybars set for max oversteer (soft front and hard rear) and a track alignment. Maybe my driving technique is to blame, but I never could find total satisfaction with the GT4 in that respect.

If you are considering Euro Delivery with the new car, that would be a big reason to "upgrade". That was a big reason for my decision to make the move.

my thought would be to buy the .2 GT3 and drive it for a couple months next to your GT4 and then decide which one you need to unload. i planned to do that with my 991.1 C2S cab a few years ago with the GT4. i ended up finding a way to keep both (ie, convinced the wife) as they are so different and both have their place.

To me this is a silly question.

If you can afford it and have an allocation I think it'd be really silly to not buy the GT3.

Chris Harris said it best, he wouldn't sell a GT3 to have a GT4.

Ideal world keep both.

If it were me I'd sell the GT4 for the GT3 and then when the new GT4 comes out consider selling the GT3 to get one of those if they have a 4L na engine.
