GT4 Rear Brace on a Base 981 MT
I'm certain others have done this but I didn't see it here..
I added a GT4 cross brace (981-331-275-80) that ties into the same place as the rear sway bar attachment points..
Can I tell the difference? No.. But liked the idea that I tied the back end of the cradle (like the front), thinking less stress overall..
If you're interested, you'll need the 718 sway bar brackets (996-333-777-00) and longer bolts (900-378-159-01).
This mod took about 45 minutes to remove the old & install the new - less than $200.00..
Enjoy!

Isn’t this the same? Suncoast sells it for $155, thought about doing it (since I installed x73), have not gotten around to it...https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PK981BRACE.html

The bar at Suncoast is turned up along the perimeter and the one I ended up with was simply flat on the edge (not from Suncoast) - it's plenty stout.
It's #31 on this exploded view:

Bar, new bar brackets, and four bolts to my door came in around $171.xx...
X73 is next!!

The Suncoast bar is from the 718 and will fit a PDK transmission equipped car as it is narrower in the center to provide more transmission clearance. It has a lower L profile to increase stiffness and has two holes in the tail that goes through the aluminum pan.to limit flexing as the car suspension moves. I have a Suncoast kit on my Cayman and have purhased one for my new flood salvage '14 Boxster.
Note holes drilled in pan with bolts/nuts through the 718 brace
718 brace required new sway bar carrier with a flat end. Note lower L tail on brace parallel to pan.
