Default Dedicted track wheels for 987.2 Spyder - will these work?

Been doing some research, want to make sure I get this correct. I'd like to start using separate wheels for track vs. street. Decided to go with 18 for all the usual reasons. Stock on the Spyder is 8.5/10. Seems like there are a million opinions on this, found these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Genuine-P...haNGOR&vxp=mtr

I looked at 18 OZ's, and Tire Rack seems to point to 8.5/9.

They are 18, I like the color... and they are 8/9 which seems like the sizes some folks prefer, others do not, come off a 987.1 Cayman S.

Should work just fine. I have a set for the same purpose.

They don't look like OEM wheels and the OEM wheel does not have a steel rim. There is no mention of the offset. If offset is correct the wheel will work. You can find used OEM wheels for about $800. On my 987 Cayman S I ran both the OZ 8 & 9 wheels and then traded up for the 8-1/2 and 10. Generally for track a wider wheel is better.

Thanks for pointing that out - I'm going to pass on them. So you were running 18-8.5/10? That would match the stock 19 on the Spyder in terms of width.

The 18" x 8-1/2" & 10" OZ are hard to beat. Ran them for several years and I'm an aggressive instructor group driver who uses curbs. Sold the car and the wheels are still going strong. I'm currently running CCW 19" x 9" and 11" wheels on a GT4 but they are another price level.

When you say use the curbs - I assume you mean the rumble strips/paint? I'm on them very aggressively - basically everywhere my instructors would drive on them. Never dawned on me this could be a concern with OEM wheels or OZ's, but good to note.
