Default What to do with old exhaust?

I just had a Soul PP exhaust installed on my '16 Boxster Spyder? Do folks keep their old exhaust for any reason? My installer said he has exhausts left by owners that he can sell on EBay. He recommended I keep my old exhaust in case anything happens to my current one. That said, it'll take up space in the garage. Thanks.

Keep it, swap back to stock to sell the car, sell the nice Soul exhaust used, pocket $$. That's the most economical route. Stock exhaust is worth very little, but nice used catbacks are decent change.

Thanks for mentioning us! If anything happens, you know we have a lifetime warranty! If it taking up room is an issue, you can always sell the factory system now and purchase again used later, effectively you would be out just about the cost of shipping it to you.

Save the stock exhaust if you have the room. Around 2 years ago I paid $495/each for used 2002 Boxster exhaust manifolds, with the converter as part of the exhaust manifold. New ones were double that price, more than $1000/each!

Carnewal might buy your exhaust. They rework the stock exhaust for better sound.

DiabloBlanco,

Now that you have done the switch, post a review of the upgrade and let us know what you like etc.

I had this same dilemma - opted not to keep it as the cost to reinstall oem would negate any profit from selling aftermarket (for me) and I prefer the garage space...😁

I was hoping to do a video with my new 4K video camera but just don't have the time.

I absolutely love the exhaust note thus far. My smile was cheek to cheek before the Soul exhaust but now it's ear to ear. We're all familiar with the classic wailing sound of the Porsche exhaust. It's a nice exhaust note and some would say not to mess with it. However, to me, this is a sports car with a high performance engine in it and it deserves an aggressive note. After I spoke to the guys at Soul PP, they convinced me that I'd achieve a deeper note with their exhaust. I was skeptical at first but figured I had to take a chance at some point and at the end of the day, I deserve it. I'll note that I didn't want to change the shape of the note, just wanted a deeper tone and I think I achieved it with the Soul PP exhaust.

Anyhow, here is how the conversation went with the guy who installed it.

Installer (via phone): Sir, your car is ready.
Me: How does it sound?
Installer: (giggles). Uhm, what were you looking for?
Me: A deeper sound; nothing obnoxious.
Installer: (giggles again), Uhm, it's loud.
Me: You mean really loud?
Installer: Good loud. You'll have to see for yourself.

When I picked up my car, the installer was giddy. He said he used to own a GT3 and said it reminded him of that car. He said it was inspiring him to go pick up another Porsche. Videos don't do it much justice but I can say that I'm turning more heads than I was before (could be good and bad). I had people coming pulling their window down at stop lights asking how I achieved that sound. I dropped my daughter off at her piano lesson and had people coming up to me expressing their appreciation for the sound (and car, of course). Lastly, I love how other cars just pull up to you expecting a race (I'm too old for that) off the line at a stop light (Mustangs, Maseratis, Jaguars, etc.)

Pluses:
-deeper sound
-works with PSE button
-a little more aggressive sound even w/ PSE button off
-no droning

Constructive:
-While I like the angle tips, they are not flush to the bumper. They stick out an inch or two. Soul PP can correct me but I believe that if they shorten the tips, it may impact the sound.
-Need more options on the colors of tips. I have the satin finish. I know black is in the horizon and would have liked the black tips. Maybe Soul PP will swap these out for me =)

I also wanted to do headers but there are issues here in California and I didn't want to go through the rigmarole of changing the headers at each test.

Let me know if y'all want any short clips. Happy to post once I get this new video camera broken in. In the meantime, happy growling!
