LOL @ "measily" 315 hp. I'll bet good money that someone like Michael Andretti could scare the bejesus out of me with a non S 986 with it's "paltry" 200 or so ponies.

That does help

But you can get ~375 HP out of the 3.4 with full bolt ons, as has been shown by several dynos (catless headers, tune, possibly plenum/TB).

I find there's enough storage in the Boxster for long road trips, but not as much as the 911 has. The two have almost identical frunks. The back "seat" of a 911 swallows a lot more than the 981's trunk, and the 981's cabin holds nothing but 2 passengers and the things in their pockets.

I know off subject but "north shore of Ontario"... Canada? I used to patrol those waters but mostly stayed in the St Lawrence Seaway. Loved K town, Limestone blues festival should be on everyone's bucket list.

btw - braking-wise, a good list here: http://fastestlaps.com/lists/top-qui...stoppers-60mph

A standard 987.2 S has a 60-0 braking distance at 99 feet. GT3 listed at 94 or 99 feet depending on the model. 918 Spyder is 94 feet.

I did not see data for a 987.2 Spyder - but it has to be shorter than 99 feet. It comes with better pads, and is lighter than an S. I'm betting it is not as good as a 918 - so I doubt it is better than 95 feet at best... and I am guessing it is at least a foot better than an S...

So it is right in the braking range of a GT3 more or less... and a few feet worse than a $700,000 supercar. I'm not worried about the brakes.

Stop being modest daylorb, I'd wager good money that aftermarket spoiler was good for at least another foot off the stop distance.

I'm a serious boater so I have also patrolled these shores. 😁
Kingston can be a lot of fun. Great summer activities and some great restaurants. Easy access to the Thousand Islands doesn't hurt. I live on the lake near Grafton, ON.

I had a Searay Sundancer on Wellesley Island, I'm biased but I think the St Lawrence is among the best boating in the entire country.

Small world. I have stayed at Thousand Islands Club on Wellesley. Whenever we're anchored in the islands with guests a favourite day trip is by dinghy down the International Rift.

Sundancers are nice boats. I carefully considered a Sundancer on the 2nd-to-last boat purchase. Finally decided on a Tiara. Nice boat too.

LOL - I'm searching high and low for those stats!!! The friggin metal rivets used to mount it might have added too much weight though... almost done with my full conversion back.

Smitten, you definitely win Tiara is an exceptional boat, I did like the Searay though, 454 bravo two it was a beast. That golf course, that was part of my marina, Wellesley Island East. Great breakfast. I've been through the rift on a fairly big boat, when the water level is right a good captain can navigate it without incident. My dockmate had two Boston Whalers, so like you I have bombed around the bay at nearly water level. I used to admire the moored boats, some were Tiaras, for all I know I saw your boat and thought it was a sweet unit, you're right it's a small world with strange coincidences.
