I ran across a 2014 Porsche Cayman S at a local Porsche dealer that has me considering purchasing used rather than ordering a new base 781 Cayman. Here are the details:

This dealer leased the car in 2013 for 3 years and sold it to a 2nd owner, who traded it back in after 9 months. All services were done at this dealer, so they know the history of the car inside and out.

Clean CarFax

Porsche Certified with warranty up to 6 years/100,000 miles.

Mileage: 39,951 (should this be a huge concern?)

250 - Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
400 - 19-inch Boxster S Wheels
446 - Wheel Center Caps With Colored Porsche Crest
603 - Bi-Xenon™ Headlights With Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
636 - ParkAssist (front And Rear)
844 - Multi-function Steering Wheel
N4 - Dark Blue Metallic
P06 - Power Sport Seats (14-way)
P9B - Premium Package I.c.w. Power Sport Seats
P9G - Infotainment Package With BOSE® Surround Sound System
UG - Standard Interior Sport Seats In Luxor Beige

Asking Price: $46,749

CarGurus Pricing Data:
Instant Market Value: $51,068
Private Sale Estimate: $48,896
Trade-In Value: $37,488

I’m going to check it out this weekend. Any feedback or questions I should be asking welcomed.

That seems like a very aggressive price for a CPO 981CS with no stories, but there are plenty of other nice 981's out there. You really just have to decide if you prefer the sound and character of 981's (with a bit of savings to boot) or the torque and nice facelift on the 718.

I know this post is over a week old but I agree with PorscheAddict - $46k for that car sounds really aggressive, although the miles are slightly high. For reference, in September I traded my 2014 Cayman S with 27k miles (basically in perfect shape; some slight wear on the drivers' seat) to a Mercedes dealer and they gave me $45k without batting an eye, and my car didn't have Infotainment, auto climate, sport chrono, power seats, or PSE. The only real options I had were PDK, PASM, Carrera S wheels, and PTV. They listed my car for $51k and either sold it or unloaded it because it was gone in a couple weeks.

I'd say if you find a similar car and it's under $50k, you probably want to move on it. Good luck on finding a car!
