iphone 8 or 10 and PCM 3.0
I have an iPhone 6 and soon will upgrade to an 8 or 10 -- they don't have the wired audio pin plug which the 6 does.
I have tried to get audio (not phone; phone works fine) in my 2011 Boxster with PCN 3.0 via Bluetooth and not succeeded, so I use a wired pin plug connection but that option will go away with an iPhone 8 or 10.
HOW DO I GET wireless Bluetooth audio to work in my P-car??
TIA,
fred

They have small Bluetooth devices that connect to auxiliary which allows you to stream music and gps via Bluetooth. You can get them with lighter connection or just battery operated. Mine is battery and lasts about 8 hours before it needs a charge.

I didn't know they came with a converter Lightning->3.5mm audio. That would solve the audio problem but then there wouldn't be any battery charging going on.
I've ordered a Bluetooth receiver with 3.5mm audio plug. I'm hopeful that this is the full solution.

Another thought: a USB-powered AirPlay receiver like this AudioCast device: .
Just added one of these to my daily driver this weekend and the sound quality is much improved over the terribly compressed factory Bluetooth A2DP implementation. Plug into a 5V USB port on one end and the car's aux. input on the other and you'll be up and running in no time.
Usual disclaimer: not affiliated with manufacturer/retailer -- just a happy customer.

I just bought an old 30-pin iPod Nano on eBay and copied all my music onto it. It lives in the car. Better sound than BT and works with the PCM system controls.

I was thinking to buy this: ViseeO Tune2air WMA1000
I have read a lot of positive reviews and it seems that if you have the "Y cable" in the armrest you will be able to control everything from the PCM display.

Does your car have the optional Audio/iPod input? If not, you can retrofit the kit if you want a truly OEM setup, but it is quite pricey unfortunately https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/99704490234.html
You would also need the proprietary interface Y-cable

Plus a 30-pin to 8-pin/lightning adapter (which must be MFI certified) and maybe even a female-to-male lightning extension cable. I know it seems like a lot, but it’s a nice way to both charge your phone and listen to music/podcasts/whatever. Otherwise, you're limited to either a 3.5 mm jack to lightning adapter (which would nix the ability to charge your battery) or a bluetooth adapter (where the connectivity and sound quality might be less than ideal).
