Default Porsche Boxster 987 - Mini project

I wanted to document some of the work going into my friends recently acquired Boxster. He doesn't post so I'll do so.

Currently I own a 997.1 S coupe but I'm looking for my own Boxster to add to the lineup. Link to my build I need to update. https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...y-911-c2s.html

When my buddy got this car I was more than willing to help fix it up. The car was underpriced since it has some cosmetic issues.

Stock form before it was brought to my workshop.

2005 Black on black with manual transmission.

Some issues I'll be addressing,

-Loose inner door handle. I believe this is the spring tensioner issue. The window goes down a little bit on its own. I -think- it's because since the door handle is floppy it makes car think you're starting to open the door.

-Fix the soft top. Simple fix the little plastic ball joint cups are broken and need to get changed.

-Brake calipers need to get powder coated.

-Install H&R lowering springs, possibly shocks.

-Breakdown 3pc wheels to powdercoat, assemble and reseal.

-New tires

-Radio upgrade

A set of HRE 890R were scored in Boxster/Cayman fitment.

The back 2 are slowly leaking air but that won't matter soon. Going to take them apart and redo them in a gunmetal color.

The rubber band tires have to go! Yes these are 20's but car isn't seeing any track use. Current back tires are 285/25-20. Not sure if 30 series will be thicker enough. Can't decide yet until after the suspension is done.

All calipers removed, seals and pistons out too. Time to prep these.

Bright yellow powder coat should stand out nicely behind the HRE spokes once I do them in a dark gunmetal.

New rotors coming soon as well.

Regarding the window going down on it's own. All boxsters do that back to the 986. It's to clear the side flap of the canvas then return to park for the best wind and weather seal. Try this, leave it down two inches and open and close the door, if it stays where it is then the phenomenon is as described.
