718 Spyder 1st Sighting... & it looks like a Turbo.
check out the larger, turbo-style exhaust outlets...
718 version definitely has turbo-style rear exhaust... looking closer to see if confirmatory rear intercooler vents can be spotted in the bumper .... german porsche forums report multiple sightings with turbo exhaust and vents.. hard to see in this pic though

Do we think they are going down the same de tuned Carrera S engine route ??
So 3 litre turbo with 390 ish hp ???
If so, saves me worrying about changing :-)
I think the next GT4 will stick with a NA engine, but looks like not the Spyder.

That’s the turbo exhaust plarform ..........981 is a keeper. Holds to my buddy who had dinner with a Porsche Executive who told him to get a 981 Spyder and smiled and said keep it.

The exhaust might just be horizontal design integration with the other current cars.
While the Spyder isn't a GT car it has been treated like on by Porsche recently.
Holding up my hopes.

Inevitable.
I drove a AMG CLA45 in anger last week at Laguna Seca. It's a 2.0 375 HP(!) Turbo 4.
I'd guess Porsche has something in that range.
Fast car, a lot of go, but the brrp brrp brrp turbo and just the hint of lag puts it on a level a lot lower than the 3.8 Spyder NA (which also has 375hp)

I heard from the horses mouth at Porsche Parade in Spokane that the 982 Spyder being NA. I simply think they are splitting exhaust tips as a design standpoint to visually align with the airstreamers. I like it!

As I predicted... the roof and rear hatch looks exactly the same as 981.

Sucks if it is turbo, but that rear end does look kinda beastly. Perhaps if they go turbo, maybe they make this one a little meaner, with a big performance jump. Who knows.
But man, those 992s still look horrible. I hope almost all those body panels, save for the doors and roof, are camo.

My bet is on the unnamed executive having better information than the CEO of PAG. Assuming of course Maverick isn't making it all up just to keep things interesting for us.

Lots of assumptions being made here, for all we know the exhaust and vents can be a cover up.
The only takeaway from that picture for certain is that the top looks exactly the same as the 981 Spyder top. The wing doesn't come out as far, similar to the other 718 cars and the lights are the newer design. I guess none of it should be that surprising. I will be curious to see how the front/rear bumpers look.
