Default Sport Technos on 981 Spyder?

So I'm toying with the idea of a different set of wheels for my Spyder and I'm a huge fan of the Porsche Sport Technos. I noticed on Suncoast that the front wheel/tire size and offset for the 981 Boxster/Cayman Sport Technos are identical to the Spyder, while the rear Sport Techno is a 10/50mm vs. a 10.5/47mm on the Spyder. Tire size is the same (265). Question for those who understand offsets, will that wheel work on the Spyder and/or would it need a spacer?

I would think you need a rear spacer as the Techno wheels are a half inch narrower each and the offset is slightly less aggressive . The wheel would look too tucked in IMO (so a 3mm Offset differencepluss the amount of wheel that is smaller divided by offset is necessary.....
+ approx 1/4 inch of wheel on either side of the offset ...
So 25.4cm/in/4 roughly +3mm spacer would make it look stockish=approx 10mm spacer for the rears

That being said, The wheels for the 718 Boxster/ Cayman are set up better than those of the 981 for the 981 Spyder....

I have read that the 718 Boxster S has the same steering column as the 981Spyder and both cars seam sharper than 981S and 981 GTS.

I would only use regular 981 19 or 20s as winter wheels for 981 Spyder

^^^ Agree with above. 10mm rear spacer will bring the Sport Technos out within 1mm of your Spyder wheels.

I'd go with the Technos and no spacers. The 'stance' difference in the rear Technos would be only 3.35mm more inward than the Spyder wheels; hardly noticeable. Besides, the Spyder wheels are way too wide for a 265 tire. Even 10" wheels are too wide for 265s IMO. I have the Turbos, which are also 8.5/10, instead of 8.0/9.5 for all others. Their optimal tire size would be 245/275s. As for the math, rear Spyder wheels are 1/2" wider, meaning 1/4" on each side, or 6.35mm, then substract the 3mm offset difference, and you get 3.35mm sticking out more than the Technos (and 9.35 mm more to the inside). Also remember spacers put more stress on the suspension than it was designed for. I always put function over form, but to each his own. Oh, and with the Technos, your rear wheels would be a bit lighter. None is forged except the Turbo ones.
