I think the fact it has two sets of differing numbers, even though one is an EU tag is going to garner a lot of attention you don't want, I could be wrong see what the other members think.

Makes sense. On the other hand, there seems to be a good number of people who run Euro plate in the front. I'm interested in what they have to say.

Is it legal to have your number painted onto the Euro plate?

I am getting the real expired Euro plate from my German friend. I am not planning to paint my own number on it. Either way, I don't think running an Euro plate in front in state of New Jersey is legal. Nor is not running the front plate.

Mounted the German plate and I think it looks good!

Found this ingenious frame so that I could use the existing holes.

There are a few good options to eliminate the front plate and still get through the yearly inspection.

Bumperplugs makes plugs that will fill the bumper hole with plugs that are painted body color. They look good and paint match is excellent.

To reinstall the plate during inspection time you can go with something like this which threads into your front tow hook opening. https://www.rennline.com/newssection.asp?dept=1121
I put bumperplugs on my x3 and they look much better than any front plate IMO. Paint match is perfect. Try www.bumperplugs.com. Any issues speak directly with Eric who owns the company.

Thanks for the info. However, I don't think the plugs will look good because my bumper has 4 holes (!!!). Why Porsche didn't bother to design a less intrusive front plate frame is beyond me. I agree no-plate look is better than any front plate. I think I will eventually end up having the bumper professionally plugged and painted.

With four holes in the front bumper, I agree with your approach and would probably do the same thing.

This is not the one for me (I don't have a Euro plate) but it did give me cause me to look for adjustable license plate mounting brackets and I think I found one that will work for me. Thanks!
