Go to Cantrell Motorsports and look for their rollbar for the 981. On that page is a link to a PDF file that documents installation. Included are instructions on removing the carpet behind the seats.
I just did it. Give yourself an hour to do it.

If you want to do that regarding the 'symposer', I'm almost sure the Boxster GTS does NOT have it, due to the cavity for the top being on the way... but could be wrong. Find out for sure before cannibalizing your car. Having said that, I do have a CGTS and would like to plug that crap, but have read many times the carpet doesn't go back to factory fit afterwards, and I don't want that. If somebody has removed the carpet and put it back to factory fit, please give us the details, what you removed, how you stretched it free of any wrinkles, etc. Thx.

The carpet is attached to a lot of semi-hard foam. There will be no wrinkles to stretch.

I was referring at the edges, for not being able to perfectly stretch it under the panels. I've seen photos of that, and looked awful to my **** standards. Being unable to fit it as factory is a common complaint of those messing with it, hence my post.

Is this what you need? Skip to 4:52 for where he removes the rear carpet, and then proceeds to get to the engine cover.

Brilliant I guess the simplest solution by far would be simply prise/lift the plastic grill out of the carpet as there is no speaker behind it
