Also, there was no space to keep both, AND a daily car and motorcycles, so my heart is at peace, I had no choice.
However, I don't think any spyder owner needs to have an ounce of envy for the driving enjoyment of almost any other driver out there... and I think I have to say that includes 911 GT/R drivers... nothing matches having that engine directly behind you. Also, the sound of the spyder was really really special, it had an exotic howl which the 911 just can't match... they really worked some magic with that exhaust didn't they? I hope every spyder owner at a minimum gets high flow headers.. mind-boggling how good the sound and midrange get.
I'm on the list for the next one, as much as I really dislike the 718 body.. but the Spyder mold is too good to pass up. Better than a 911 Speedster if I were given the choice (I wasn't).
I'm hoping by the time it comes I'll have graduated to a 3-car garage house in SF somehow, so I I'll be able to keep GT3 AND Spyder.. what else does a man need??
Thanks for asking by the way, I'm clearly still lurking around reminiscing.

First of all, what's up with all the stupidity of supposed 'journalists'? Repeatedly saying 'vehicle lost control' (like if they drove themselves), awful grammatical errors, typos galore. Isn't anybody proofing Jalopnik and newspapers? Geez. Anyway, what a tool. That Spyder looks like a PTS, so will probably be 'outed' soon. And yes, we all might do stupid things, but not THAT stupid. I'm sure he learned his lesson, guessing most of those injured will sue him. But what I hope is everybody else here learned it too. Be safe folks.

Thankfully sounds like no life treating injuries- a few serious though.

Yeah that isn't the OEM front lip for sure. And he hit something pretty damned hard to screw up the rear wheel geometry like that!!! Maybe the fire hydrant just down the street??
(will we see a Spyder in the for sale area in a couple months?????)

Traction control had to be off with that spin.

Yup he floored it hit second, and rearend came around with no traction cold tires. Car sat possibly for a few hours that's all she wrote. One thing to own a sports car, but must know operating limits I would hope. Prayers to injured. Driver must feel horrible.

The windshield damage appears to indicate someone was injured severely. I won't bore you with details but as one struck by a car I can assure you living with permanent injury is difficult and often overlooked when nobody dies.
