Any interest in a Spyder specific Meet Up or Club for North America?
After attending the Parade in Spokane and realizing how little Spyder's (981 and 987.2) were in attendance. I was wondering if there would be any interest in doing a national meet up of Spyder's? In Europe they have a couple Porsche recognized Spyder Clubs (Germany and France) and was wondering why not here? There is a enough of a following to justify it... or am I assuming? Thoughts? Figure we could start planning now for next year? We could do a separate meet or combine it with another Porsche event?

I know of at least 5 others in Portland... two at my work. Three are white one black and last PTS Voodoo Blue.

I have seen at least 6 or 7 987 Spyders in SoCal, there are a few active PCA guys who take them on drives and auto cross. I know a few and I can reach out to the rest when I see them.

I just posted something on the Boxster Spyder Facebook page as well. I think we have enough interest to warrant a meet up... heck a handful of cars is worth it.

Consider northern California for a meet.. the roads & scenery are beyond belief. There is already a healthy spyder club in the US though.
A tour here could include:
-laguna seca or Sonoma trackdays
-winery tours
-coastal drives (no AC required)
-Lake Tahoe and inland lake drives
-a visit to our very own CJ ICHIBAN's dealership
-non-car excursions including whale-watching tours, San Francisco, big sur.
Endless options tailor-made for spyder driving.. all within a 100 mile range or less.
