ok, so it does seem to be 1/4" thicker (circumference) than my OEM wheel (the pic angle is funny, but mine is 4"):

I changed out my original multifunction wheel using the multifunction paddle version from porschemaster and have no complaints at all. Great quality and it works as advertised. I went through the process of disconnecting the battery and upon install did not have an airbag light.

The only issue (and it's not even really an issue I suppose) is that there is no functionality in my car to do a double-pull with the paddles and shift into neutral though the manual says this is a feature of the PDK.
I've read up on this a bit and it seems to be hit or miss whether your car will have this function if going from a multifunction wheel without paddles to one with paddles.

Would definitely recommend doing the swap regardless. Enhances the look of the interior and feels great when driving.

I've read that, for some unknown reason, the newer-style 718/991.2 wheel (like the Porschemaster) simply doesn't support the "pull both paddles for neutral" function. If you were to install the standard 981 Sport Design wheel, it would probably work (might require a coding change with PIWIS).

Going from Sport Design to 982/991.2 should require something like what I bought, the GPSadapter. I have the neutral pull function intact. I programmed joker function with PIWIS. GPSadapter has installation instructions for all conversions with recommendations.

I wonder if going from 981 Sport Design (PDK, no multi-function, no heat) to new 991.2 style (PDK, no multi-function, no heat) retains the Neutral function.

As I understand it, unfortunately not. Of course I hope I'm wrong and someone will correct me...

Yes. If your car originally came with Sports Design SW and not the Multi-function SW, there is no need to code the car to enable the double pull to neutral feature.

Looks great! Is that the regular thickness wheel? I was told you can get an extra thick wheel. I find my sport design wheel a bit thin.

it’s regular thickness. I think it’s very similar in thickness to my original wheel but I didn’t have the sport design.

How is the Porschemaster "Alcantara" (or is that leather) compared to OEM?
Overall impression? Worth it? Build and material quality 1-10?

I went with their in stock leather for 950. I prefer leather to alcantara on the wheel anyway.

Overall, quality seems excellent. Seems OEM.
Very pleased.
