Hi all,

I just bought a 2014 Cayman 981. Extremely happy with my purchase.
First thing I want to do is add Apply Carplay.

Now I believe I'm rocking a PCM 3.1 computer.
I'm a bit confused though because when I go to version I see the following:


Will the Isudar PCM 3.1 work for my car?

You have a PCM 3.1. Looks like Isudar has a solution for you. And for me too for that matter - I'm looking into doing the same. Good luck with yours.

As mentioned above. You have a PCM 3.1 with software version 4.0

There is a software 4.76 update image that should fix some bugs. The download is floating around if you’re feeling adventurous: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/8739...on-update.html

Thanks for the responses. Isudar PCM 3.1 has been ordered.

@CaptainSlowly I appreciate the knowledge sharing about a new version being out there.
As I haven't noticed any bugs, I won't be putting effort into updating beyond v4.40.

Side question, any backup camera that anyone can recommend?

I installed the Maxspeed Motorsport backup camera. Works great, but I think they have stopped selling it.

I have a 2014 981 S. PCM 3.1 and previous owner installed ZZ2 IT3-PCM31A carplay unit: https://zz-2.com/products/it3-pcm31a...auto-interface.

Happy with it most of the time, a little clunky sometimes especially switching from PCM function to carplay and back.

I ended up installing the Isudar PCM 3.1 and it's working great.

I added a (cheap) back-up camera and it works as well.
The image quality of my cheap camera is too bad though. Also, it doesn't have the guidelines and when I enable the guidelines through the Isudar unit they go in the opposite direction.
Ordered a more premium camera & will be replacing the current cam once it arrives.
