Contact Mr12Volt Customer Service Chat to get the update file. I can't include it because it will be outdated when they update the firmware and it might be dangerous if flashed to the wrong model.

Instructions:
1. Create an 800x480 JPG and name it "bootlogo" with no file extension.
2. Format a 32GB or smaller USB thumb drive as FAT32.
3. Copy the bootlogo and update file to the root of the drive, and plug it in to the P2000's USB.
4. Go to Settings > System > Factory Mode > Reboot. The firmware update will install and the new splash is ready (your old settings are retained).

Notes:
I used an SD card with a USB reader instead of a thumb drive. Silhouettes of other models are available here. I created the splashes using Paint.net and saved them as a 100% quality 4:4:4 JPG.

can you advise if a photo of my car can be used for the bootlogo if it’s in jpeg format?

Yes, as long as it's the correct size it'll work.

Thanks. I just ordered the CarPlay for PCM3.0 and requested the software update. Do I just add bootlogo image to the new software update on a micro as card?

Hi Dino,

The bootlogo is loaded off a USB thumb drive on the USB cable that's part of the kit. The firmware is updated via microsd card. 2 separate things.

okay thanks. I’m confused about the update file you mentioned below. Does the Bootlogo and latest file update have to be done at the same time? Or are they separate procedures unrelated to each other.

Step 3. Copy the bootlogo and update file to the root of the drive, and plug it in to the P2000's USB.
4. Go to Settings > System > Factory Mode > Reboot. The firmware update will install and the new splash is ready (your old settings are retained).

okay I should use the supplied USB cable and
thumb drive for the logo. But what about the update file you mention in step 3. Do I also update the latest software using the Microsoft card slot? Or are these two procedures unrelated.

3. Copy the bootlogo and update file to the root of the drive, and plug it in to the P2000's USB.
4. Go to Settings > System > Factory Mode > Reboot. The firmware update will install and the new splash is ready (your old settings are retained).

I just got a 2024 Toyota and Mr12Volt is so much better for Android Auto and Bluetooth in general that it's not even a contest. The latest firmware updates made connections rock solid and instantaneous, the Toyota is a total mess by comparison. They should consult with Mr12 for their system.

My messages aren't going through to you for some reason. Apologies if you get the same message more than once.

Does the Bootlogo and firmware update have to be done simultaneously?

No, they should be done separately.

Do use the same procedure to install the firmware update? If so, what is the micro sd slot used for?

Thanks again for all your help.

when creating the jpeg logo, I removed the extension but it still opens as a jpeg and I don’t think it’s supposed to. How do I remove the extension so it just appears as a file. I’ve been looking online but it seems a little complicated. I can’t find a straight forward procedure.

I had trouble trying delete the JPG file extension.

This is the procedure incase anyone doesn’t know how. A bit tricky.

Deleting file extension
  1. Open the folder where the file resides. Ensure only the bootlogo file is Inside this folder. Rename the bootlogo without the jpeg extension by right clicking the file and deleting the extension. There’s another extension JPG that you can’t see unless you go to properties/details. The below procedure will remove the JPG extension so you’re left with the base file.
  2. Click on the folder directory and delete or hit backspace to clear it’s contents and type cmd.

3. A command prompt window will appear to modify or delete file extension.

4.Type ren *.jpg *.

5. Theres two spaces. One between ren and * and another space between jpg and *
Take note of the periods.

6. Press enter This will delete the extension from the file or all files that are in the folder. You’re done

This looks clean. Where did you place the Mr12Volt control unit to have the SD card extension placed in this location?
