I have a 981 S and want to do Borla. I have an opportunity to get 50% off msrp brand new.
I’ve watched most videos on YouTube about it and like it. Main concern is that it might change the overall sound characteristic of what Porsche sounds like.
to those who have it:
1. Thoughts? Likes and dislikes?
2. Does it drone?
At this point I think I will keep my headers stock.
Loved the sound and improved performance. There was a slight drone between 2200 and 2500 rpm's but it was very livable. It sounded like a quieter version of my 2ltr 911S racecar with straight pipes.

YES majority of aftermarket systems for 987 are prone to drone.
-If you want the signature flat-6 sound then there are exhaust options out there that specialize in eliminating drone and capturing the signature flat-6 tone.
You get what you pay for.

Wow sounds great! Curious if you had any gas odors enter the car (when windows are open) being a catless exhaust?
i like mine a lot on my 987.2 Spyder, great sound, great blips on the PDK, the drone exists at low rpm in higher gears, I don't drive at low rpms in higher gears, of course the Spyder is a drop top so open air driving may mitigate some of the drone, but I'm sure it's manageable in a Coupe
Had a Billy Boat in my M Roadster. Had a drone at about 2300. Very annoying.
Had a Borla in my RX-7 Convertible. It took what little low end torque the rotary had and moved it close to redline. That meant I was always between 5,000 and 8,000 RPM. It got annoying since there was no "cruise" mode anymore. The extra power came at a steep price.
My 987.2 Cayman S was used as the prototype for Borla when they developed their exhaust for that car. I appreciated the opportunity to have my car used for product development, but ultimately was not completely happy with the solution. I loved the deeper tone and sound level, but after a while the drone just got to me. I was also somewhat concerned about heat, given how close the over-axle sections run in relation to the dampers (not saying it's a problem, though). In the end I pulled the Borla and replaced it with the original exhaust, after sending to Cantrell Motorsports for modification. Much easier to live with on the street, in my opinion, and still sounded terrific on the track.
