Default Chopped top 911 cab but not a speedster.

I drove by this today, at first I thought it's just an 89 speedster with some fiberglass C2 bumpers, but then I did a double take. While the overall height seemed to match that of a speedster, the top, windshield and door frames did not. From what I was able to see, the windshield was flush mounted in what looked like a chopped 911 cab frame while the top looked like a standard 911 cab top that had been cut down. The car was based on a 911 with turbo suspension, turbo flares and fiberglass c2 front and rear bumpers. Any ideas on where this thing came from or who built it?

I see an antenna, so the newest the car could be is an 84.

Car would have been absolutely stunning if it still had the stock bumpers and no vent in the quarter. I keep telling myself that it was just an illusion and that the top and windshield were stock but the photo says otherwise. The work was very well executed.

You have to wonder why the rear bumper is so shallow looking. IIRC, when I had my 964 turbo, the rear bumper stuck out about 6 inches from the reflector. It is a nice looking car, though.

All that work and you don't have the $140.00 for lug nuts?

Looks like a custom rear bumper, neither are 964 units.

I forget who did the front bumper with the 928 lights, saw a cab with that front too before.

Quite intriguing that they kept the stationary front side windows.

I agree. Quite subtle, looks to be well done!

Take care!
