Default Mobil 1 Formula M

Just got some 5w 40 Mobil 1 Formula M full synthetic. Any thoughts on using this in my next oil change in my 95 968.

I haven't seen this before being sold anywhere. Its a bit too thin for any of my cars but I would like to see others comments on their use of it.

It will blow thru, too thin. Older cars require thicker oil.

Default 968 oil

So, 20w 50? Any brand? Trying to get some sort of consensus. Mine has 118k on it.
Thx-Bill

15-50 or 20-50 seem to be the most popular. I have used Liquimoly 10W60 with good success. This is the weight Porsche sells for older vehicles.

Valvoline VR1 20W50 seems popular, works for me.

I use a 50./50 mixture of Mobil 1 15/50 and Mobil 1 V Twin 20/50 in my cars. I have in the past run the 911 and the Z car on the Mobil 1 V twin 20/50 only as neither has a cat.

I used Valvoline 20W50 VR1 last time. The car seems to be happy with it.

Default 968 oil

So I guess I'll go with 20w 50 full synthetic.
Thanks for all the input with this.....

I use Valvoline 20/50 full synthetic, also. Used it for years on my 944 S2, and just did my first change on my new to me 95 968. What oil filter are you using, and are you using a new oil drain plug washer?
