Default Convertible Top release handle & clip

Rolling through fleabay the other day I noticed Lart had one of these for $100 and 944Reanimation had one for $149. Now this did not surprise me as much as they each had a couple people watching... Are these thing built out of the PCar UNOBTANIUM ?

Here is one for $75 with the clip shipped CONUS if anyone here is watching/needing one from fleabay.

Not too often that Im kicking around that much money on my garage floor.

Another bit of advice, for folks, is don't assume you can not purchase other items as new. Check first. In the last few years Porsche has been making parts.

For example in the past I saw the tail lights used for $250 but new they are around $290, people are just assuming things are NLA.

Another example, the carpet plugs around the hatch, I just got new for around $2.50 each last week. For ratty old used ones, people are asking $4 each.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread, for some reason I have 3 of these in my basement somewhere (from back when I had a 944S2) and you can still get them new. I think your price is fair at half off.

I'm still getting over people asking $1K+ for a CD2 radio and $500+ for a CR1. A set of Cup1s on eBay for $3900 right now! Parts are out of control.

My CR1 sold yesterday on ebay. No fuss no muss BIN $795. To a reseller.
My Cup 1s can be had for less than half that $3900.

Even though this is a pretty old thread I'll give it a try. Still have those Handles? I'll take them off your hands if you do. How does it happen. My father passed very suddenly and left me his favorite car. I'm SURE the handles are in his house somewhere as I've seen them as well as the top down on the car many times. Been looking in the house for over a year now and still can't find them. If you have them I'll give them a good home!

It's the basic law of supply and demand. Many people wanting to restore a car to original specs, in the case of old radios, very few are working units and it's 30yr old technology. For wheels, I think the 964 crowd snapped up a lot of Cup1's. In my mind, I would much rather spend $1500 on a new Porsche Classic Navigation radio that $1k for a CD2. Unless you are in a restoration category at Parade, it won't make any difference in scoring, and would be a much better unit overall.
