Despite all the comments about the paperwork, I think someone got a helluva deal.

Congrats to whoever the new owner is.

Update: Sorry for delay cuz I know there is a lot of interest in this. I can't give full details until the car is actually sold. That means $ in hand. For starters, lets say I am sick, near tears, love this car like a child and swore I would never sell it. Life has its quirks, some force never sell promises to be broken.

If it leaves I am down from 14 to 1, The ARTCAR and a 99 986 DD.

Yes, the high bid price was $21,000. I reduced the reserve nearly $7000 in the last 30 minutes. Many of you will recall I walked on $31K and change about a year ago. Yikes!

In final summary this is a fabulous car which was a total because of a now legendary incident involving a broken top, a lot of money and a mistaken assumption. It is not a salvage or marked title and never will be. My opinion is that it it is worth $28k to $35k and I believe yours is too. Will be worth $50K in 5 years. That is to all of you who have similar quality cars.

The transaction is not complete and could fall through. Note the bidder was making his 3rd ebay purchase. I am waiting on a wire transfer deposit as we speak.

If the sale completes it will land in Hotlanta suburbs.
A lifetime California car (with brief vacations in Big Sky) won't like it there.

More later and thanx for your support. Anybody know a nice coupe for $7000? Trevor? HA!

$3000 deposit received. Possible pickup on Monday. May do a wheel swap. Car prepped and ready to go. Looks spectacular. Have cold feet.
Jay, since it is going to Atlanta I'm hoping you bought it with an an incognito bidding agent so it will still be family.

Wow, another speed yellow 968 on the east coast. We are getting greedy over here. I can't wait to see it in person. I've seen all the spotted cabs in person except #7. Congrats to the new owner!

Its probably in Georgia by now. Nice guy. I can assure you he was totally thrilled. Admitted he knew he stole the car. It will take me a long time to recover from this one. Each of the previous 13 to leave were difficult. This was not the best of my 15 but definitely my favorite. The black cab in Ohio and the white/red cab in Oregon were hard but this the hardest by far.

I'm going to keep an eye out for this one. Sure hope it shows up at one of the local events.

Jay, i'm pretty sure he belongs to your Region. Has a Cayman as well. I will be looking forward to your report of a sighting.
BTW, nonworking CR1 from the Avatar FS.

Is the new owner a member here? Perhaps you can maintain a sort of "relationship" with the car through the forums. It's not crazy... when I learned that my old SY Cab #10 was owned by a guy on here, it was like finding an old friend.

He has already joined the PCA 968 registry and I always invite new members to come here and hang out on RL.

He is very excited about being the next caretaker of this special car. I can't wait to see it.
