Is that correct or am I missing a part? Like maybe that little spring with a contact on the end of it from the old wheel?
Also I am worried about taking the center horn cover off of the steering wheel. Last time I took it off it went flying across the garage and I was worried I broke the little plastic tabs that hold it on. Is there any way to gingerly take that off or do you just PULL?
You need to lube the contact. Its normal for it to make some noise unless lubed.

Ok the edge of that brass horn adapter was rubbing on the edge of the brass ring on the wheel. I filed it down a little and added some electric grease and it's pretty quiet now.
