Thanks for the words of encouragement guys/gals.
Paul, sent you a PM.
Jeff, I'm leaning toward 'green'. There are many to choose from though, based on this website. http://teamspeed.com/forums/porsches...d-porsche.html

Known you for so many yrs, would love to meet in person. Let me know when you plan to swing by.
Maybe a few shots of the cab might help as well

But whoooooo she's a lucky one finding her way into very capable hands!
Have fun with the project, JW! Can't wait to see pics of the progress.

Do I have a deal for you on some cobalt blue parts. I think I have the whole rear bumper section, ground effects, tail lights, .... the list goes on.
Is she a tip or 6 speeed? Have an engine? Did not see any photos of that...
Stop in on your way back home if this trip takes you north of DC. Im having an all you can carry sale!
Good luck with Wilma, she is a far better project than mine would have been for you!

So, given that it will be easier to watch this journey if I keep all the information on the same thread, I plan on updating this from time to time as conditions change.
I had previously made a rolling stand of sorts. A photo is shown below.

Started out a little later than initially planned to pick up Wilma thanks to Hurricane Matthew. Since I'm a working stiff, had to rearrange my schedule to accommodate work, vacation and of course the Holidays.
Since I'm so lucky, I postponed the pickup date from Columbus Day to the Thanksgiving week. Well, fate decided to let me know she is still dealing the cards.
So, if you don't have a full size heavy duty truck, you can rent one from our good friends at Enterprise Truck Rental (for a nominal fee of course). I had already made the reservation for Columbus Day, so I merely rescheduled - no problem. Did a followup phone call to confirm 2 weeks ago.
Of course, no one saw the fires in Northern Georgia coming to this party. Seems as though the Governor declared a State of Emergency which means guess what? They need trucks to access the remote area to deliver personnel and tools/etc for fire fighting...give you 3 guesses where the truck I reserved went to...first two guess don't count.
The guys were very helpful at Enterprise and came through with flying colors though. Got a Dodge Ram 2500 extended Cab with 500 miles - just had to drive about an hour to get it. Game on I say. As it turned out - the extended cab was a great feature...more on that later in another post.
FWIW - if you need a trailer - I found that Sun Rentals offered the best deal for my needs in this case. YMMV. Given that a 968 body shouldn't weigh more than a Bobcat type landscaping device, I figured that would do the trick. Instead of $500-600 for a U-Haul car trailer, the Sun Rentals equipment (with handy dandy tilt bed feature - ) was only $200/week.
Finally got the trailer and everything together - off we go!

Slightly better than the Pasha car. I have some suggestions for paint. Is that a driving range I see in the background. There is a new paint product called invisidip.
Jay, I admire the rescue and hope I last long enough to see the outcome. I hope you do to.

I like the orange, that would be cool, or I think signal green would be neat as it was a period correct offering that was never selected on any North American 968.

Jeff, Just curious, the photo of the maritime blue cab. Was that car in NY or Nj, or more specifically, Long Island? If so, i almost bought it several years ago. One of my four cross country nightmare 968 purchases or non purchases. That car is how I found out about the bad news situation on windshields.
