Craigslist, Ebay and other online Porsche 968 finds....

That thing seems too good to be true at that price. I'd buy that up asap if it was closer or if i didn't just grab a dumb 996.
Here is an interesting one thats prolly worth twice the asking price in parts alone if the add is all correct. If its an M030 factory car may be worth 3 times the price. High mileage but...

Very nice and way underpriced. Even though the car is 1 of 134 Polar silver cabs that interior and top makes it 1 of 9. And it is loaded. No LSD though and someone robbed its 17" cup2s.
Is it a lumbar car?
....well presented but a few oddities; missing radiator shroud, pinch clamps at the throttle have been replaced with worm style.(but Luke sent me worms under that part number), crack above the hazard switch, vario insignia missing, aftermarket oil filter, two CD players?

read between the lines; Raj's admission might raise a few eyebrows–if not be received with near astonishment.
at 150 k, most of the engine blocks are good (mine came out at 200k as smooth as a baby's bottom). but, (if we're honest) the lower engines have never been the problem; it's so much of the other stuff; the maintenance after 140 k miles can be nearly half the price of the original car.
there's the clutch, rod bearings, aging ac pump, .....and the list of probably leaking or soon-to-be, including the ps systems (some for the 2nd or 3rd time) maybe the H20 pump... the head gasket is going or probably getting near. the camshafts should be checked, they should all be added to the many items coming due after 120~140 k miles.
that being said, when i first drove my 968 away from Surf City, NC, i drove the back roads for a few miles, then pulled onto the interstate, and nearly had my mind blown. i liken the 968 to most other hp Porsche's and Audi's; if well cared for, overall, these cars are amazing. my engine still had good power (not as much as at 67k miles, but still very good) – even at 200k miles.
the patient isn't dead...

I do a lot of searching for 968 info and I get a lot of old threads on Rennlist back in the early to mid 2000's where LOTS of 968 owners are having really good discussions about suspension and engines and all kind of interesting stuff. Now it's like 6-8 people and cheesy posts like "hey look at my new gear shift ****"
For those who have been in this sub forum a long time why do you think it's died down? Or has it?

This Polar Silver Cab on BAT that is ending in a few hours sure looks nice to me (59K miles):
http://bringatrailer.com/listing/199...8-cabriolet-2/
It was at $11K and while I was looking at it, somebody just bid $12K. Will be interested in seeing where it ends.
This 92 (red/black with 98K miles) sold yesterday for $16,968.
