It's probably pretty expensive and then you would have a car that is far from original, not good for resale. I'd just keep looking, they do show up, maybe not close to you but a PPI from a good shop near the seller would help tell you the condition. Sometimes RL members will go look at a nearby car if you ask.

. I really lucked out and got mine for 5k USD and it was definitely because it was a tip lol. I dunno if resale really matters because no one wants a tip up here. Even if the conversion cost was under 4k it'd probably be worth it for what I paid.

For those in the hunt for a 968 I would suggest placing a WTB ad in the Pano magazine. That is what I did and in a few months was contacted by a seller that was ready to move to a Cayman. He had his 968 for 18 years and knew the original owner. All records to day one. Now mine.
