I went and saw this 968 last week. I can tell anyone interested what I saw on the car.
I'm interested. It's in the general range I want to be in, so it's always good to hear someone's opinion.

Yea I was wondering the same. It certainly looks in good shape.
Has anyone ever bought from an auction?? I'm actually considering bidding on this car.

No, but I would consider it under certain circumstances. Since there's a buyer's premium around 12% for absentee bidders (I think) plus registration fees around $100 just to bid (I think), I would want to know what the reserve is. If you knew there was no (or low) reserve, then maybe you could get lucky depending on who else bothered to go through all that for a potentially 'normal' car. But I don't know if I'd drop the registration fee just for a car that's priced too high to begin with. I don't know if reserve info is published. From what I've seen on TV the reserve may be able to be set and altered just before bidding, so you may be throwing away $100 just to find out.

It would be different if you were already there and interested in bidding on several cars, but for just one where we don't seem to have much info, I'd be cautious, but it could be fun to participate in too.

Edit: It looks like you need to put down a deposit of 20% of your high bid for absentee, if you were thinking of doing it remotely. Seem like a lot of work.

Sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth.

Really nice owner - 2nd owner who has had it for 16 years. Looks and sounds good mechanically although I didn't drive it. Owner used it as a daily driver up to a few years ago and you can tell. Lots of rock chips, scratches around, and there was a 2 inch straight indent on the hood by the crest. Left headlight had a hole in it, external trunk mechanism not working, and the beige carpeting needed to be shampooed. Also, all of the external rubber seals looked like it could be replaced. Wheels were in good shape but would need new tires. Seats were cracking on the drivers side but not yet ripped.

Engine was rebuilt at 39k miles due to 1st owner not maintaing the timing belt. No issues since.

Color is Amazon green. Overall good car but you can tell it was a 24 year old car cosmetically.

This one is interesting. Looks like a newly done interior. Reached out to the owner and waiting on a response. Anyone know the scoop on this one?

Seeing the bright red interior, noting that it is supposedly supercharged, and seeing that it may not have been licensed since 2013, all I can say is "Yikes"!
Approach with caution.......

There is a really good shop in Phoenix you could use for a PPI, Stuttgart Southwest, Jack Doverspike.

If you are really interested I could ask another 968 guy in Phoenix to look it over as well. I might be able to get down there next week too.

Depending on who's supercharger it is, it could be a great car.

If you get the VIN Jeff could tell you what it came with originally.

Looks like design 1 racing super charger.

The belt is double sided for the A/C, but the extra bracket for the intake pipe throws me off, but that is pretty much the intake for it from the Supercharger.

928 Motorsports has a different setup.

Don't know of a 3rd SC kit out there.

The red interior doesn't bother me too much. But the supercharging does so I'm going to pass. Thanks for the help and the insight all!

Since it is a Design 1 supercharger all is good. I may have to look at it myself since it's only 90 minutes away. I'll let you know what the owner has to say about it.
