Strong money for a 107k mile car but coupes are popular. It has just one factory option, partial leather seats in black.

I do,

Of the 1,447 North American 6 speed manual 968 cabs, 300 came with LSD (20.73%)

As opposed to the 1,811 North American 6 speed manual 968 coupes where 584 came with LSD (32.25%)

Wow...Thank you Jeff. I am surprised that the ratio is not much larger in favor of coupes. It makes sense that coupes had a higher percentage based on use/platform.

What surprises me about this number is that over the last few months we have seen so many cabs for sale and this Boston cab is the first to have the LSD option. Yet there have been many coupes (especially recently) with this option.

Curiosity getting the better of me again... What are the tiptronic numbers?

The shocker is that 22.45% or 22 of the 98 M030 968 6 spd coupes did NOT have LSD. It was not standard with M030. Minty is an LSD cab.

As for Tiptronics:

Of the 2,008 North American 6 speed manual 968 cabs, 561 came with the Tiptronic (27.94%)

Of the 2,234 North American 968 coupes 423 came with the Tiptronic (18.93%)

Tiptronic transmission was a $3,000+ option.

Rich
I considered buying the car before it hit the auction. It's owned by a guy who is somehow related to a dealer. The car sounded great, photos looked decent too. I had a PPI done on it and there were a few stories, mainly that half the car was repainted, and it needed some general TLC. I had offered the guy under $17k for it. He was asking $22k IIRC. An increase in asking price of more than a third in about 10 days...that'd make a hell of an investment! GLWS....

White one in Dallas? I have pics of it. Mileage is low, but cosmetic condition is rough. Needs a repaint at a minimum, and some corrosion repair. Interior has a bleach (?) spill in the back seat, and a tear in one of the front seats.

I'm not savvy enough to figure out how to efficiently post pics that were texted to me. If you want, send me a PM and I will send you pics via text.
Basically it has bubbling, flaking paint at the wheel wells & rockers, deep gauges against the mirrors from scraping against a garage? and the paint is chipped off the entire door edge. The owner's father (original owner) was driving the car well into is 90s.

interior- hole in the back side of the front passenger seat
i complete forgot this detail-- t belt had broken in 2003? at 32k miles. Did a valve job, replaced some intake and exhaust valves, of course head gasket, etc. New tires and pads/rotors in 2007.
As far as I'm concerned, the thing needs all belts replaced, i'd have to do a leakdown check, needs brakes/tires, paint, and probably interior repairs.

Other than that, it seemed like a solid car.

Thanks for the info.....Sounds like it needs plenty of work. And the guy who is selling it is not good at communication.
