To replace the winshield or not

Late last summer had a small rock hit just at the center edge of the windshield just above the rearview mirror. An immediate single crack went down in front of the rearview mirror and stopped. I have been told by two shops that it is not repairable but it has not gotten any worse in the last 9 months, but it really does not see much in the way of temp changes. I am reluctantly going to put it up for sale and wondered if I should replace it. It is not noticeable from inside the car and if I were keeping it I would not consider replacing it but not sure how a new buyer would feel. It is the original glass and has no other damage or even pits to speak off. I have 25k miles on it now. Should I replace it? Porsche says a grand installed including the trim.

I would do it. Too obvious.

New buyer will likely doubt it happened last year and isn't actively getting worse. But nothing is stopping you from putting it on the market as-is. If you're not getting within a thousand bucks of your asking price because of the glass, then swap it out - or just take the thousand bucks off the price while negotiating with a buyer.

You might want to check laws too..In California, you cannot sell a car with a cracked windshield, however its up to the buyer to know that and enforce it.

I will say that much like our smog law, the seller is responsible and just like you can technically go after the seller if the car won't pass smog, the buyer can do the same with a windshield.

Thank you guys. I have ordered the glass. Will take a few weeks to bring it in.

I like the fuchs on the 968. Looks good. The original wheels are nice but I think the fuchs rims keep the Porsche race DNA look happening.
