94, 968 coupe
hi everyone I have been thinking of buying a 968 and have found a 94 coupe that is really clean at a dealer for 12.5 k. hi miles123k, they are offfering a 3mo powertrain warranty. carfax is clean everything works no obvious bodywork. this car is every thing that my 86, butt-ugly 951 isn't. if the ppi checks out is it a good deal???????????

Is it at a used car lot? Porsche lot? what dealership is it? thats a big deal to consider. Make sure you don't jump into a purchase, give it a good look around, welcome to the forums btw.

It is a trade in at a volkswagen dealership, I called them back and they came down more on the cash price. I have an 86 951 with the dash cracks non working ac, dead sunroof, etc. etc. I love 944 turbos and have owned two, but man this thing looks like new, and EVERYTHING worked. If the ppi checks out ok the only doubt I would have would be the hi miles, and the pinion problems i have read about. How long will a well maintained 968 engine go b4 major rebuild is neccessary both of my 951's have gone over 150k. This car looks to clean to have just been detailed by the dealer, although I know from prior experience that i could be easily wrong.

Wow, keep working them on the price and then BUY IT! Sounds like the way I bought my car...I had two different shops take a look because the mileage made me nervous but it's be an excellent car.
Are you trading your 951 toward it or keeping both? Nobody's really had to rebuild their 968 engines yet so I'm not sure how long they'll last...probably 300K+ miles. Mine still feels solid at 190K, doesn't burn any oil, no misfire, it's SOLID.
