Default Vintage sprint race: two 968's vs rx7

Entertaining video from down under! Many have heard of Pete Fitzgerald and I always thought the 3rd gen RX7 was a much faster car than 968...guess not.

That track is just down the road from me (well 80km down the road). They used to race the Indy cars there during that weekend. Great video, forgot that 968s used to race in that series. Thanks for posting.

That was very, very enjoyable thanks for sharing. It's a beautiful thing watching a 968 driven in anger tho the RX7 driver played it perfectly, driving defensively and making time where he could (mainly on straights).

I'll admit, I was waiting for the brakes on the RX7 to eventually fade.

Great clip! Thanks for posting it.

I also used to think the 3rd Gen RX7 was a lot faster, until I conclusively proved otherwise. My first track car was a ’93 RX7. As fun as it was its reliability left a lot to be desired . On a couple of occasions I was signed up for DE’s, but the RX7 was having issues, so I took my wife’s 968 instead. To my great surprise I was able to turn pretty much the same lap times in the 968 as in the RX7. I eventually realized her car was more fun because it was equally fast, and would always make it through the weekend trouble-free. Eventually she had enough of me abusing her car, and told me to get my own 968, so I did! In 1999 I got rid of the RX7 and got the ’94 968 M030 that I still have today.
