That is Rene's old coupe. She sold it and the new owner had a wreck driving it home after pickup. One of seven coupes painted in extra cost code 57 Violet Blue metallic. Rene was a big purple 968 fan and long time NJ PCAer having owned this coupe and a 1 of 5 Amaranth Violet cab which she is currently selling as well. She says she is planning on purchasing a red Ferrari.

I've heard about some pretty bizarre crash incidents with newly restored 944s..... even to the point where i'm convinced the Porsche 944 is jinxed. but, this story has to weigh above all others. pardon me for asking, but what are the chances of crashing their rare-paint=scheme/vintage Porsche on the way home from buying it?

Day 1: Unfamiliar with the car, getting used to the switches and knobs, looking down at the rad...<BANG>.

I have a guy that does a lot of body work pretty cheap. Sadly, this car has damage on every panel. I'd like to try to save it cause the bags didn't pop but when you look at working every darn panel on the car, it gets sticky. Maybe I could pull some 944 doors, but the rest is all 968 dependent and tin for this car is hard to come by. Also needs plenty of front end susp work, so it's a loss.

Shame, wish it could be kept.

Doc, even if you had a complete set of body panels...

that car is so way far beyond destroyed...

and the frame bent? you can be sure of it.
