Hey all,

Just picked up a new to me 1992 968 with 220 option. Great PO. Came with stock 16's and 17" cups, solid rubber on both. Bridgestone R11's on the 17's. RS Barn exhaust, chip, stainless brake lines, MO30 sways and Swiss cheese intake. I picked up a set of 1994 build date OZ Mito's in 8.5 and 9.5 width's off Craigs for an awesome deal. Also added a set of GC coilovers, aligned and corner balanced.

She's driving mint! I gotta take care of some maintenance items and will get back to tackling the cosmetics.

Here's the scoop on NS820594:

#534 of 2.234 North American 968 coupes
#534 of 694 1992 NA 968 coupes
1 of 299 P5 Grand Prix white coupes (3rd most popular coupe color)
1 of 87 P5 Grand Prix white coupes paired with a black interior
Factory options include: LT partial leather in black, 220 limited slip. 437 full power 8-way driver's seat.

Can you check your driver's door jam VIN sticker and tell me if your car has either a 5/92 or 6/92 production date?

Great stuff Jeff thanks. I'll post the build date when I get home... So I have to ask, how could you tell it was a US build car from the exterior shots? Also, did all 92's come with paint matched rear hatch/spoiler? Was it an option in the later model cars?

Painting the wing body color was a factory option: my car has it, thank goodness. Painted hatch trim is pretty rare and I think I've usually seen it in combination with a painted B-pillar trim piece. Jeff?

All true Canadian North American 968s have a Canadian package which is made up of:

M36 Canadian emissions
288 headlight washers (which I could see you didn't have)
340/139 heated seats
Metric instruments

There were 121 Canadian 968s produced.

The painted rear spoiler was a factory option (595) for all 4 years. Your car did NOT have it so someone added it after factory production.

The painted hatch trim is not factory. I've seen it added. You'll see black b-pillars on 92s, 93s, and early 94s. Late 94s and 95s had the body colored.

John, any chance you'll make your way down to Portsmouth for the Porsche show on 5/18? Just down the road from you and you'll get to see all those Speed Yellow 968s!

Congrats on your new set of wheels,look in pretty good shape for a 93.How many miles on it? Like Jeff mention true CDN cars came with headligth washers,mine his a true CDN but I really didn't like those produding washer noozles who kind of look odd on the bumper so I shave them & at the same time I did install a set of Euro signals ligths disgarding the rubber bumperetts.More pics of your car interior & engine bay will be appreciate if you could.Take care. And another question for you when you have a minute. Do you see the engine storage compartment on the photo below? On the door over the glove box there are some molded shapes of gloves on the top. They got rid of the shapes of gloves on the door late in 92. Does your car have them?

With the removal of the engine covers, recessed hood badge, etc. was Porsche simply trying to cut costs as the company was going through tough times?
