Default CR-1 Radio Help

Sorry to keep re-hashing this but I cannot find the thread where the all the various connectors were identified and where to buy from to make a harness to replace the CR-1.

I would also be interested in a dead CR-1 to remove the wiring to make the new harness if anyone has one.

Confirming that I plan on installing a CDR-220 and need the angled display to make it readable in the 968. This is apparently available from Becker Autosound.

With the CDR-220 installed do I need the small bezel that came off the CR-1 or does it come with its own?

Thank you very much, Howard

I am a bit disappointed in that what I got were individual wires with flat blade crimp connectors and not a whole mating connector. Does anyone have a connector pig tail for sale off an old dead unit?

I might have one. PM me with your email address and I'll send you a picture of what I have.

Do you want the entire pigtail, cut at the entrance to radio box? The radio has broken buttons so don't worry about it, tell me what you need.

Jeff, If it was working and you know the code I would like the whole radio, otherwise just the entire pig tail. The one out of my car looks like new but developed a scrambled display and quit working. I tried to have it repaired but the shop just sent it back. So on to the CDR-220 which I am really looking forward to using.

I don't think I have the code and I'm not sure which 968 it came out of. that said, do you want the entire radio or just the pigtail? Again, it had some cracked buttons on the front. I'm not sure it works either. I got it with some other parts.

Jeff,

Thank you very much for taking the time to find it and send the photos, too bad it was not the same connector. I decided to just cut my old one off the radio and got everything wired up nicely, but the CDR-220 will not go all the way in.

Before I start really getting crazy and/or mad I am wondering if others who have installed the CDR-220 had any issues. It feels like it starts into the top and bottom rear support springs, goes back in maybe an inch and then just hits a hard stop.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Howard
