Default And the mecum 968 went for....

it didn't sell even though it was bid up to $20,000. Who says the 968 resale market isn't strong!!!

http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...43082&lottype=

I saw newer Boxsters go for half this price!!!

It should have definitely sold at that price! I guess Ken loves it too much.
I was thinking it would go for $18-19k.

And someone else loved it enough to bid it up to $20K. It was a clean car but 1 of 432 black cabs and with 67K miles.

Does it show on tv? I haven't seen it on the block, although I know they don't show every lot.

Auction fever, that's not really a 22K on the regular market. Well done, though.

Agreed - not realistic but well done. I'm not opposed to anything that increases the value of our cars, but there was some "I want to be able to say that I own a Lingenfelter car" in that selling price.

Funny. Eventually there will be enough Lingenfelter cars for everyone. He had nearly 200 last time I was up there, and he's always buying and selling.
It is great to see one bring that kind of money, but I hope they don't get too expensive before I get one!

I've been to the Lingenfelter shop several times (before and after the current owner) and was never really impressed for the amount of hype they have. Way better and cheaper options out there. The first time I went there it was pretty fun as I was with Louis Gigliotti Jr. (son of Lou Gigliotti, owner of LG Motorsport) and they didn't even know it.

I disagree. For a 100% stock car with 0 modifications, a title that read "Elvis Presley" may have added value. For this car, I'm thinking Lingenfelter added as much as say, Hudson!

The rare, clean 968 model brought the money IMHO.
