So I've narrowed down my color options for my 951 powered 968 track car and looking for some opinions. I want to keep it a factory color, and even better if it was actually an option on the 968. I want something bright and flashy but not red. Interior will be gutted and painted the same color. Will most likely be doing fender flares too.

Here's what I"m thinking:

Continental Orange:


Signal Green:


Maritime Blue:


Riviera Blue:


Speed Yellow:

Great looking color! But, I will probably be doing the paint job myself so I want to avoid metallics.

As a speed yellow owner, I say 'continental orange'. There was a 'blood orange' Turbo S that I'd prefer a bit.

Not sure this was a factory color, but a guy named Konstantin had a 968 years ago painted in the most incredible shade of orange - kind of a burnt orange, but not exactly the Corvette version of this color. The car looked like a meteor. You might try googling it. I like the copper too, though, though I understand your concern with the metallic color.

Painting it yourself, huh? Wow, that's impressive - I'm always awed by people who have the skill and patience to do body and paint work . Best of luck with whatever you go with.

I would say Rivera blue or Continential orange. Porsche really had some awesome colors with the 968. So 90s, but so cool!

I like Continental Orange the best followed closely by Speed Yellow.

If not the copper, I vote for Continental Orange.

The OP wanted a Porsche color, and as I recall that copper was a Volvo color, although I agree it looks great. Lots of interest lately in vintage Ferrari's painted Nocciola, a copperish hue.

This is easy, open a bag of M&Ms, sort out the red and brown ones, then pick a color. The popular colors are all there: Speed Yellow, Rivera Blue, Continental Orange, and Signal Green.

I'm considering Viola Metalic. Not a track car color, but available in the early 90's on 911s but never chosen from the Special Wishes Program for a 968. Done correctly, the car apears black except in the bright sunlight.
