968 Gas Tank Same as 944?

Default 968 Gas Tank Same as 944?

ANyone know if the 968 and 944 (later plastic) share the same tank?

The 968 has a plastic gas tank but earlier models of the 944 had metal gas tanks. Don;t know when they switched.

I think they are slightly different, due to the different transmission crossmembers. Not positive though.

From 86 to 91 944s fuel tanks has the same part #.But if you look at both pics (first one is off a 94 -968) the second one off a late 944.Like FrenchToast I,m also not positive but they don't look the same to me.

I think Ernie just divulged when he removed the fuel tank from his 968 for cleaning...

The first one doesn't have the holes in the tank for the thru bolts .
