968 roadster
Did anyone see the mini story of the 968 roadster in the Porsche family collection in the new Excellence? Very interesting to learn about it.

I saw a few pictures of it in another thread, but I'd like to see some interior pictures.

somebody could copy and paste a bunch of stuff i listed on page 1 of my upgrades thread and put up the corresponding check marks.... but, i could see how the op, Jeff and others might seriously not appreciate this... i was the next in a long line of people who thought Porsche kept too way too much cheap, '80s crap on the cars...... and the 993s, 996s, etc, got all the good stuff concurrent during the 968 production years and going forward.... this car seems to be a confirmation that forward thinking was at work, then left on Herm's cutting room floor....
and imo, it's a considerably nicer 968, than the standard version. it's okay to say this, right ? :) it looks like some midway point between Tahoe and Cobalt blue. . |
The fenders remind me of the Zagato bodied Alfa Romeo GTV-6. And the Speedlines are sweet!
|
you got that right.
$64 k question; when did they complete the car ? |
I like it. Looks like Tahoe Blue. The thing to note is how many 968 parts they left alone, like the mirrors and door handles. It shows that even the custom guys like those parts. Now, can somebody get me the VIN? :)

I'm almost willing to bet there is one person who will try to claim that he thought of doing this type of mod!

anyone have any other photos of this car? maybe of the front end. Appears to have fixed headlights.

Seems like Porsche's idea of a love nest. Who needs seats! And seats just add extra weight. |
