CL9 is too much unnecessary $$$ overkill. just source a good local leather/int specialst....

North Carolina is a car resto mecca.

your interior pieces will be more added amazing.

I've got a donor dash and door cards ready to go. I'm considering Classic 9. Any ideas?
Highly recommend. They do quality work. Rob is great to work with. I had him recover a set of CS seats to match Flamenco Red and they came out amazing.

So does anyone know is a 944 dash can fit in a 968 and use as a core to get recovered? Thought I heard that they attach differently.

^ good question.

EDIT: After looking at the copy of PET for 968, the dash components have 944 prefix numbers on them.

Not sure if that indicates anything conclusively though.

Should be the same from 1987 onwards. Dual airbags.

While I haven't used Classic 9, their products look very good on the website.

If they are a little pricey, but the quality is top notch - I'm going with quality every day. I have plans to use Classic 9 for some work in the future.

You can always get oats cheaper used, but the quality isn't as good.

I saw some pictures stating you have to trim all the plastic, to get it to fit, since the leather is overlayed over the old dash.

So while I can't state for certainty it was C9 that did the plastic, that picture I saw someone didn't do a good job on the binnacle pieces at least.

I imagine it is similar to that packing material that forms around a shipped item and takes the shape of a box.

Anyways I understood some of the vinyl is removed, but not all, making the dash "thicker" in spots after the leather is installed. This can cause issues with the plastic trim, such as the center strips, vents and cluster binacle fitting, since they are now too big. So you have to get a knife and trim. I suck at stuff like that.

That being said, I have no clue if this was an issue with c9 or another vendor, I have no experience with a recoverd dash, and was throwing this out as questions to ask.

Default Coming Attractions...

Waiting on my interior to be completed...these guys are local to me and have a very impressive resume, check them out....Lake Norman Tops and Interiors They have my dash, door cards, rear side panels, A pillar covers, center console, sun visors, and headliner panels. They are matching a pair of GT3 seats that I recently acquired (charcoal with a gray french stitch).

This will soon join the Black Sea Torque Tube...Torsen equipped.

Looking forward to seeing your interior. What type of material did you decide to go with for the dash covering?
