what did you do with your 968 today.....

New antenna - mine just looked like a rusted spring.
Door gaskets finally installed without cutting any slots to fit around the central locking switch and other connections.
It was epic chore that I could do again with a lot more finesse... it felt like surgery, and my hand is cramped today from trying to find the proper leverage.
I managed to break the drive-side linkage without even knowing it. The replacement (944-537-261-02) is more robust, however it did not come with a replacement pin, so I hope she holds.
I will likely revisit it when I get the re-upholstered door cards and new speakers installed... stay tuned.
Nice work you your projects guys!
Working on designing a new batwing for the street which suits my taste.

Yesterday on the Riv Blue cab:
- Installed new battery
- Replaced trunk shocks
- Installed new trunk carpet
- Fine tuned the fit of my rubber floor mats
- Filled out application for Antique status in the state of PA
- Took if for a quick spin!

Had my engine covers powder coated. The paint I put on a couple years ago starting turning a yellowish hue.

I was really happy with the outcome to be honest.
But there are "nay" sayers out there that hate them.
But it comes down to individual tastes I believe.
I really like a "full" wheel arch and I achieved that look to "T"
Front and rears both sit slightly inside the wheel arch and I used a 30 profile to keep the rolling diameter the same as the OEM spec so no speedo issues.
The bigger 19" rims give it a much more stable feeling on the road and has actually lessened my A' pillar shudder being a ragtop.

^^There ya go..........
btw, has anyone any good driving exploits to tell about?
sometimes i just can't stick to the posted speed limit. here's some from the past 30 years driving the old Foa Foa and 968.....
i got pulled over by the BP in front of Halftime Pizza for pulling a U'ey on Causeway Street across from the old Gahden..... got into an argument with the cop asking him "if you just finished a 12 hour shift slammin' pans in the Bakery in 110F, if he wouldn't pull a U'ey for Halftime Pizza." He says, "that's besides the point. Just get the ____ outa here."
i got pulled over by the Staties on 90 near Brighton maybe 1.5 miles west of the toll gates for estimated 125mph. The guy let me off cuz i had 3 Wellesley academic geniuses in the car that were with Elite or whatnot. He complimented me on my good taste in friends and said 'if he cited me, it'd been a shytte sheau anyway.'
A few days later i got pulled over in Brookline for accelerating too fast vs an Audi. Guy says, 'i chose you cuz i hate Porsche drivers even more than Audi drivers.' i never passed 60mph.
i got that bs Brookline ticket fixed.
Best all time was getting pulled over by Homeland Security on 64 in the Hoosier National Forest in Indiana. Guy claimed i was doing 130mph. It was actually like, ~142. But i saw the glint of a reflection and slowed down before he painted me at the cruising speed. i asked him why if he was a ranger and how his SUV could go so fast. Why did rangers use radar? Then we got into a conversation about 911's vs 928's. Told him my dream car was a 968 Turbo RS, but i didn't have ~340 grand. Kind of friendly chatter.... "slow down," "Have a nice day, etc...."
Then there was this time i got pulled over in Wisconsin..... guy trooper walks up to the car with this lady trooper. Gives me this long look--and says, "people been callin' in......" they ended up offering to write me up for no brake lights if i signed guilty so they could get 75 bucks or whatever.
Another time i passed a big crash on 684 just outside of White Plains so i gunned it northbound..... a few minutes later i was almost to Brewster up on 84 running about 155mph so i figured i better let off the gas. i was still coasting over 100mph when i saw a NYT Trooper on the median and applied the brakes. Claimed he heard the engine 5 miles back, then heard me let off the gas painted me at 97..... a conversation about 911's vs 911T's ensued. Nice guy--rare for the NYT.
Be careful crossing the Oklahoma Panhandle on 54 or 83. That place is corrupt as ____.

Today I cleaned my oil pan and cross member while doing the rod bearings and oil pan gasket. Oh, and another goodie I replaced the heavy OEM oil drain plug for a lightweight one.
clean 968 cross member
clean 968 oil pan
clean 968 oil pan
lightweight oil drain plug with neodymium magnet.

Damper plate
I finally got the damper plate out of my 92 968. The issue with it was different than I expected. It is not the rubber that gave way, but the whole rubber disc bonding to the metal ring is gone. The rubber disk has a tear in it but I would say it would still work for a while. Anybody experience with this? Would there be a fix, apart from replacing it with a new one?
